My Workshop Projects

Purchased 24th December 2013 Im a part time engineer with a love for machinery and problems. This time I have come across a pre-war workshop surface grinder which needs some work. Why did I buy it ?    Well im still thinking that one over but i pretty sure I can use it for something  🙂 The unit came off eBay. I wanted a long term project that would keep me busy when I get idle (not that I get much free time). Although I committed to the idea of this project moving it could be a bit tricky. I live in the midlands and need to travel some 200 miles to collect it. I have estimates of aprox 900kg Churchill NB500 Grinder 22.   My 1st Extension I have always wanted to build my own home. But the lady of the house would not commit. So what can you do? How about buy a house with enough space to pretty much double its size. Good Idea just need a new House ! This is what we started off with, Standard square house with double garage. When we bought it it was with an eye on that garage as there is enough room to build on. I had to convince the missus that although i have no experience, i don't know which way up a brick goes and i have never done any pipe work etc in my life that i was sure this is a good idea. Convincing done! I bought a A0 pen plotter as started to put together some drawings. They are not that bad and got an architect to put them in for planning. The plan was a little  ambitious   as the ground space is nearly double. Yahoo! planning accepted. Double check the missus is on board and down with the garage.
